Helen is motivated and inspired by all that nature provides, particularly the ocean and flora, whether in domestic gardens or the natural environment. Working mainly in water media, she aims to capture the essence of subjects that grab her attention and demand to be rendered on paper.
Alternating between detailed observation and loose, spontaneous, expressive brushwork, Helen creates her artworks by combining water media with hand-printed papers to produce collage pieces. She is currently experimenting with layering and mixed media, enjoying the process of working on several pieces simultaneously while waiting for layers to dry.
Encouraged and inspired by two local art groups she belongs to—Random Palette and Estuary Artists—Helen has exhibited successfully both locally and nationally. The friendships and collaborative exploration of new techniques with like-minded artists continue to foster her creativity and passion for art.
10% of each sale will be donated to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation of Australia.
