collaborate with local businesses
share a location with a local artist who has a space in Mandurah

what is an individual and collective application?
An Individual application is for one artist, or two artists working collaboratively to create shared artworks in one studio. This type of application is listed under the artist’s name, not a group or collective title. Note: Multiple individual artists can apply separately while sharing the same studio location. Each artist would submit their own individual application.
A Collective application is for two or more artists working in one location, who each create their own individual artworks but operate together as a group under one collective name. The application is listed under that collective title, rather than individual names.

am i able to register as an individual artist and part of an art collective?
Yes! Artists are able to register as both an individual artist, and as part of a collective. However, two separate registrations will be required and artists will need to clearly indicate if their studio will be closed for specific days during the event.
Can I apply for advertising in the Mandurah Open Studios program?
Yes – local creative businesses are invited to register their interest in advertising space in the printed and digital Art Studio Guides. However, please note that individual and collective artist studio profiles are not eligible to also apply for advertising. If you're an artist with a registered studio profile and a separate business or event (e.g. a Mother's Day promotion or external exhibition), you're welcome to apply to advertise that business or event, but not your overall studio as listed in the program. For more details, pricing, and how to express your interest, please visit the Advertisingpage.
Opening hours
am i required to open my studio space every day during the event?
No. However, artists are required to open their studio on the four core event days: Saturday 2 May, Sunday 3 May, Saturday 9 May, and Sunday 10 May, from 10am to 4pm. You must be present at your studio (or have an appropriate representative) during these times to welcome visitors. Weekday visits during Mandurah Open Studios 2026 are by appointment only. If you wish to offer weekday access, please provide contact details to be included in the printed guide and online profile.
am i required to stay at my studio space during the opening hours?
Yes. Artists (or at least one representative if participating as a collective) are required to remain at the studio venue during opening times, to greet visitors.
Insurance
do i need to have public liability insurance to take part?
Yes - all participating artists are required to have Public Liability Insurance that covers their activities throughout the duration of the Mandurah Open Studios event (min. $20 mil for each occurrence). If you are registering as a collective, please ensure all your members are covered by Public Liability Insurance.
what is a certificate of currency and where do i get it?
A Certificate of Currency is a confirmation from your insurer that your insurance policy is active and current. It includes details like the policyholder's name, policy number, the type of insurance, and the start and end dates of the policy. Most insurance companies have online portals where you can log in and download a Certificate of Currency. You can also contact your insurer directly, either by phone or through their website, to request a Certificate of Currency.
Peel Open Studios, proudly running since 2018, is rebranding. Beginning with the 2026 event cycle, the program will officially adopt its new name: Mandurah Open Studios. While the name is changing, the creative spirit and strong community connection at the heart of the event remain unchanged.
Why the change?
A Mandurah-focused footprint allows for a more condensed event area, making it easier for visitors to experience more studios in one trip.
A tighter geographical area helps improve event visibility, strengthens local identity, and supports targeted promotion, especially for studios in less central locations (e.g. Dawesville).
Aligns more clearly with the City of Mandurah’s tourism and arts planning.
Artists from outside Mandurah are still welcome to participate, as long as the studio or exhibition space is located within the City of Mandurah for the duration of the event.
A refreshed visual identity, increasing promotional opportunities, and stronger messaging to attract new audiences and visitors.
